  • Horizon Media is a global leader in data-driven media and marketing and relentlessly focused on improving every aspect of their clients’ campaign. With a focus on innovative marketing, Horizon Media’s social experts manage campaigns for top brands across a wide variety of verticals.

    Challenge

Each client has a different customer journey, with individual nuances to influence, convert and retain consumers. Add to these nuances the growing number of Facebook ad types, which result in the need to manage even more creatives per client. Last but not least, let’s not forget the many different types of reports to be produced to help keep all of their clients in the loop.

Horizon Media needed to be able to tackle all of these challenges while accelerating the growth of their client portfolio. To do so, they required a technology partner to enhance their existing toolkit and automate the creation, management, and optimization of highly-targeted social marketing campaigns.

    Solution

    Creative Manager:

Horizon Media eliminates creative bottlenecks with unified organization and control of their clients’ creative assets with Creative Manager. With this tool, the team can search, format, sequence and optimize creative across Facebook and Instagram for richer storytelling across many advertisers at scale. Horizon Media was even a design partner for Creative Manager when it was in development, providing valuable feedback on performance and usability.

    Personas:

With Kenshoo Personas, Horizon Media easily creates, reiterates, groups, and updates their clients’ most valuable audiences at scale, while ensuring data governance and consistency. They also leverage the Dynamic Audience Refresh tool to ensure that their clients’ custom audiences are always up to date.

    Custom Metrics:

Custom Metrics are a game-changer for Horizon Media. The team defines KPI calculations that are unique to how each client measures success. Once defined, the Horizon team can use these Custom Metrics to measure, report and optimize clients’ campaigns.

    Automated Actions:

With Automated Actions, Kenshoo’s rules-based automation, the Horizon team works smarter, not harder. They automate time-consuming tasks, like bid optimizations, dayparting and creative refresh on both the ad and ad-set level, saving precious man-hours.

    Analysis Grid:

With Analysis Grid, the team can analyze groupings of ads, ad-sets or campaigns by up to 10 different attributes. The team is able to quickly filter by the performance that matters per client, and optimize in bulk. All grid views created in the Analysis Grid are exportable, so Horizon can share insights and performance with their clients quickly.

    Results

Horizon Media’s strategic savviness with social marketing, coupled with the time-savings and performance they saw using Kenshoo, proved to be very successful. In 2017, Horizon Media grew their social marketing program by 78%, mirroring a strong year for the agency at large, tallying $900 million in incremental billings for the first half of 2017. The team expects to further accelerate their growth and mastery of social marketing in 2018 with Kenshoo on their side!
