“Google rolled out a new paid-for format of its shopping search function on 13 February 2013 in the UK, ending what was previously a free arrangement for online marketers. The transition is going to take until the end of June 2013 but learnings from the US – where Google has been running Google Shopping as a ‘pay-to-play’ service since 17 October2012– have demonstrated impressive returns for those who moved early.”
